Frequently Asked Questions

How do I purchase your coats or other items?

We only sell right here on the website.  We do not offer holds or pre-sales.  Much of our communication about what we are working on is on our Instagram page: Mabel and Snow

When is the next website restock?

I make new coats weekly.  I don't have a set restock time or day.  I try to have a restock about every 10 days or so (sometimes sooner).  Please sign up for my  emails so that I can let you know about restocks, new items and more.  I promise not to spam you!  I also always post on my instagram page when I have added new items to the website.

Do you offer custom orders?

Yes!  I only take a few customs a month and right now I am only doing customs for someone that already has a quilt/textile to send me.  I will send out an email when I have some custom spots available.  Please note that final payment for a custom will need to  be made via Venmo or Zelle unless other arrangements have been made.

Do you make all of the items that you sell?

YES!!! We do not source out any of our sewing, cutting etc. We make everything ourself right here in our home studio.  We also draft all of our own patterns.  Sorry, our patterns are not for sale.

How much is shipping and how do you ship your items?

We offer $17 flat rate shipping (for coats) to our customers in the US 48 states and this includes insurance.  We ship most of our items in a box, this is the best way we have found to protect your investment piece from damage.  We will however ship  smaller items (shorts, bandanas) in a plastic envelope.  Each item is carefully wrapped to insure it arrives in good condition.

Do you offer international shipping?

YES!!   International shipping is subject to local import and duty taxes. Any additional fees or taxes are the sole responsibility of the buyer, if you have questions, we suggest that you call YOUR local customs office. We have found that the best rate for International shipping in via USPS (United States Postal Service) this method of shipping is tracked to give you peace of mind that your package will arrive safely. We do however have other options for you to choose from at checkout.  Depending on where the package is going, International shipping takes anywhere from 1-3 weeks. If you have any additional questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us!  I have been asked in the past to list the item on the declarations form as a "gift" so as to avoid having to pay customs fees, this is something that I will NOT do.

Where do you get your materials?

We go to estate sales, thrift stores, flea markets, antique malls, private collectors and more!  Finding materials is a very time consuming job and we always want to find the best for you.  ALL of the textiles that we use are laundered BEFORE use.

Do you offer returns?

Our Coats and other clothing are made from vintage & antique textiles. Please be aware that these are in pre-loved condition. We do our very best to photograph and describe any issues that we find. Please realize that on occasion we may miss something and that is why we take numerous photos. We do not take returns, exchanges or cancellation of orders. Please review full descriptions (that include measurements and a photo of how to measure) & photos before buying. Ask any questions that you may have. You are buying all items “as is”. Please reach out if you are not satisfied with your purchase from our shop. We do not offer cancellations of orders, this is unfair to the next buyer and to us, that is why we ask you to reach out to us with ANY questions before purchasing.

What is the best way to clean my item?

I send a care sheet with each item and note in each listing that your item should be hand washed and air dried.  It is best to "spot" treat it if you can, it should not be washed often.

Do you sell Wholesale?

We do not offer wholesale at this time

How soon will I get my order?

All orders are shipped within 48 hours, but almost always sooner.  We like to give ourselves a little extra time in case of an emergency or sickness.

Do you have a size chart?

I don't have a size chart as every commercial clothing manufacturer is different and this can be deceiving. For example,  I can be a size Large in one brand and a small or medium in another.  I prefer to use measurements as a guide as to how the item will fit you.  Everyone has personal preference as to how they like there clothes to fit.

How do I measure to be sure that my item will fit?

I have included a photo (the same one that you see below) in each listing of how WE measure each item.  I always tell my customers to find a favorite item that they like the fit of button it up, lay it flat and measure that item.  This is best done beforehand so that you can make an informed decision as to whether or not the item will fit YOUR body.  We know that this is an investment of your hard earned money and that it is important to have the right information before purchasing.
